Dancer, Lee Grandjean, Arts Council Collection

1970s

acrylic, paper and wood

height: 2m cm

This is a screen grab from the Arts Council Collection that can be viewed online http://www.artscouncilcollection.org.uk/artwork/dancer. The work called 'Dancer' is just under two metres tall and about 20cm deep. It hangs on the wall. This is a misleading image as it gives no idea of the scale. It is made of laminated kraft paper with pigment and industrial acrylic. I was 25 and worked in a studio on Kingsland Road, above a stained glass company called Goddard and Gibbs. It was shown in the Hayward Gallery in the AC Collection show of that year 1975.
